9,0 magnitude earthquake hits Japan.
Your support is urgently needed.
A massive earthquake hit the Japan coast on Friday March 11. The earthquake triggered a tsunami which left a trail of destruction, causing fires and severe damage to buildings, leaving more than five million homes without electricity and a million without water. Reports say as many as 10,000 may have died, with many more missing and/or injured.
The Japanese Red Cross, supported by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, has already started frontline emergency work in coordination with the Japanese government. Cash donations made to the Canadian Red Cross Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami fund will provide humanitarian aid in Japan.
